  • Laura Harrison

    Chief Executive Officer

    Laura Harrison brings years of experience in the safety field to her position as chief executive officer of ASSET. She is a certified forklift and scissor lift operator and trainer with extensive experience in safety training, contract management, budgeting, and labor-management relations. She has implemented comprehensive safety programs across multiple industries. Prior to her role at ASSET, she was Director of Access 3D Lab at the University of South Florida, where she won over $1M of grant funding for advanced virtualization research around the world, developed successful safety protocols and standard operating procedures for drones, lithium batteries, laser scanners, and artifacts, published two books and authored many peer-reviewed articles. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Anthropology from the University at Buffalo and a B.A. in Anthropology from Ithaca College.

  • Daniel Harrison

    President and Founder

    Dan Harrison is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and the founder of Applied Safety Systems, Education & Training Corporation (ASSET), established in 1993. He is a nationally recognized expert in safety and environmental compliance and has built a career helping organizations meet regulatory requirements efficiently. His programs serve diverse industries and often reach association members at no cost through grants and partnerships. Dan has written over 25 successful grants valued at more than $1 million. His work has earned multiple awards from the American Society of Association Executives and the Empire State Society of Association Executives. He holds a B.A. from St. Lawrence University, an M.A. from the State University of New York at Oswego, and completed doctoral studies at Binghamton University and Oxford University.

  • Peter Harrison

    Director of Safety and Environmental Services

    Peter Harrison is a certified safety trainer with over 14 years of experience in the field of education. He is a certified forklift and scissor lift trainer, with extensive experience building curriculum across different industries, including auto services, construction, consumer retail and childhood education. With a passion for education and an expertise in safety, his goal is to support the growth in trust between employees and employers by leading meaningful and purposeful safety trainings that promote a healthy work environment. Previously, he served as a Communications Manager for Nike in the brand’s North American Supply Chain division, and more recently, he has taught, coached and served as a Camp Director for elementary and middle school schools. He holds a B.A. from Amherst College and a M.A. in Education from Bank Street College of Education.
